The assessing office is responsible for the valuation of all Real and Personal property within the Town of Vassalboro. We are charged to compile and prepare a list of all these properties. The assessing office is also where Tax maps, property cards and deeds are documented and available for the public to view.

Exemptions Available
Homestead Exemption:
- Eligible for all residents of the Town if you owned a home in Maine for 12 months prior to April 1st and Vassalboro is your permanent residence.
- Exemption amount: Up to $25,000 off your valuation.

Veteran’s Exemption:
- Be at least 62 years of age on April 1st
- Served in a Federally Recognized War Period
- Or be receiving 100% compensation for a disability from the Veteran’s Administration
- Exemption Amounts: WW1: $7,000
- Post WW1:$6,000
- Paraplegic: $50,000
