Welcome to Vassalboro Recreation page! We are committed to giving all Vassalboro children the opportunity to participate in group and individual athletic programs that encourage healthy lifestyles while keeping all participants safe.

What’s going on behind the scenes?

  • Snack Shack got a fryer, now offers French fries and chicken tenders
  • Soccer closed their season by having our first ever Glow Games for the end of season celebration
  • Soccer handed out personal soccer balls to each player, as well as custom metal engraved tumblers to all the assistants and coaches at the end of season. Thank you all for your countless hours of work! Shout-out to Engrave Maine for the beautiful tumblers. (if you never received your tumbler cup, it may be at the town office)
  • Donated 4 free registrations to ANY SPORT to VCS Parent Teacher Organization winter auction
  • Purchased NEW first-aid kits, electric air pumps, and whistles
  • Purchased NEW basketballs
  • All coaches received Maine Department of Health and Human services hotlines cards
  • Rec Committee revised By-Laws was approved by the Selectboard on December 23, 2025
  • Rec Committee is the process of creating a Field Policy & Contract to rent the fields/snack shack out
  • Keep an eye out for spring clinics for baseball and softball
  • There is a poll attached to baseball registrations and on Facebook about the interest of bringing softball back to Vassalboro, please complete the poll if your player has interest in playing softball.
  • Youth Spors Coordinator has made a profile page on Facebook and will be posting items on the Vassalboro Facebook Recreation page

Baseball 2026 registrations are out!

The 2026 baseball registrations will be handed out at the school, library, and town office.

Registration Fee: T-Ball and Farm-$35 Single Player; $25 for the second player; $15 for the third player. Minor and Major Teams- $50.00 Single player; $40 for the second player; $30 for the third player.

You want to volunteer?! No worries, we have opportunities for YOU!!!

  • Field Maintenance Support

The Town and Dirigo League require all volunteers to go through a free background check for our children’s safety.

In Vassalboro, we pride ourselves in sportsmanship for ALL ages! We want this to be a positive yet safe experience for the players, coaches, parents, spectators, and commissioners. No matter what the score is we ARE Vassalboro Rec and everyone in attendance should represent that. The committee voted on implementing a Code of Conduct signed by all coaches, players, and parents/guardians that states: Any violations of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action including suspension-either temporarily or permanently as determined by the Commissioner of the sport and the Youth Sports Coordinator.
