What’s going on behind the scenes?

Donated 4 free registrations to ANY SPORT to VCS Parent Teacher Organization winter auction
Purchased NEW first-aid kits, electric air pumps, and whistles
Purchased NEW basketballs
All coaches received Maine Department of Health and Human services hotlines cards
Rec Committee revised By-Laws was approved by the Selectboard on December 23, 2025
Rec Committee is the process of creating a Field Policy & Contract to rent the fields/snack shack out
Spring clinics for baseball and softball were successful and continued to gain more interest each week.
Softball will be holding practices and games at the Recreation Fields this year!
Youth Spors Coordinator has made a profile page on Facebook and will be posting items on the Vassalboro Facebook Recreation page
Purchased two new catcher gear for Major’s along with two new USA baseball bats, helmets and three new T-ball tees.
Our volunteers have spent countless hours to keep our fields looking great.
Coordinator is going to run field soil test and return them back to UMaine to have a better understanding of what the fields needs

Baseball registrations closed on April 11, 2026. Practice and game schedule will be posted on Facebook and here soon!

The Town and Dirigo League require all volunteers to go through a free background check for our children’s safety.

In Vassalboro, we pride ourselves in sportsmanship for ALL ages! We want this to be a positive yet safe experience for the players, coaches, parents, spectators, and commissioners. No matter what the score is we ARE Vassalboro Rec and everyone in attendance should represent that. The committee voted on implementing a Code of Conduct signed by all coaches, players, and parents/guardians that states: Any violations of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action including suspension-either temporarily or permanently as determined by the Commissioner of the sport and the Youth Sports Coordinator.
