KWD Public Hearing to Discuss Intent to File Waste Discharge Permit Application
A public informational meeting will be held on June 12, at 1 p.m. at the Kennebec Water District’s treatment plant located at 462 Main Street in Vassalboro.
KWD is applying for a permit to discharge .35 million gallons per day of “drinking water filter system effluent” to the Outlet Stream in Vassalboro. A request for a public hearing, or request that the Board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction over this application must be received by the DEP, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is found acceptable for processing, or 30 days from May 30, whichever is longer.
