Minutes of the Meeting
December 20, 2012

Members Present: Rob Browne, Lauchlin Titus, and Phil Haines

Others Present: Mary Sabins

1. Call to order – The meeting was called to order by Chairman Browne at 9:38 a.m.

2. Minutes – On a motion made by P. Haines, seconded by L. Titus, the Board voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the 12/6/12 meeting as written.

3. Quit Claim Deed – Without discussion and on a motion made by P. Haines, seconded by L. Titus, the Board voted unanimously to sign the Quit Claim Deed to Philip and Mary Wentzell of Vassalboro for Map 012, Lot 056. The Town of Vassalboro had acquired its interest in this parcel of land through automatic foreclosure of a lien dated 8/24/2010 and recorded in Book 10509, Page 0011.

4. Reports – a. Status Report – Sabins stated that today is the deadline for Mr. Blumberg to submit his court ordered restitution of $8,900+ for attorney fees. Earlier this week, Mr. Blumberg had paid $800 toward the debt, but the remainder is still outstanding at the time of the meeting. b. Road Report - On a motion made by P. Haines, seconded by L. Titus, the Board voted unanimously to accept the report as presented. c. Financial Report – Discussion was given concerning the recreation department grant and the grant work still remaining that needs to be completed prior to submission for grant reimbursement. On a motion made by P. Haines, seconded by L. Titus, the Board voted unanimously to accept the report as presented.

5. Treasurer’s Warrants – On a motion made by P. Haines, seconded by L. Titus, the Board voted unanimously to approve warrants #41 and #42.

6. Other1. On a motion made by P. Haines, seconded by L. Titus, the Board voted unanimously to reappoint James Schad at the Registrar of Voters until December 31, 2014. 2. The Board had earlier reviewed an emailed detailed list of the 42 outstanding 2010 tax accounts that will soon be in foreclosure status. The Board members stated at the meeting that they saw no property on the list that would become a liability for the town should we take ownership through the foreclosure process. The Town Treasurer will send the 30-45 day notices in early January that will commence the foreclosure process. Foreclosure day is February 19, 2013.

7. Adjourn – There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
