Vassalboro Public Works Department General Information

The Vassalboro Public Works Department consists of a road crew of four, and a solid waste facility of two workers. The hours for the road crew are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the summer from May 1st to November 1st; and Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the winter. The Town Garage and Sand/salt shed are located on the Bog Road in East Vassalboro. The road crew maintains a total of 49.1 miles of town roads, of which 44.8 miles is paved and 4.3 are gravel roads. Examples of some of the maintenance performed by the Town Road crew are cutting brush, ditching, replacing culverts, grading, patching, roadside mowing, and sign replacement, to name a few.
