Minutes to the Oct. 13 VCC meeting. 2009

Vassalboro Conservation Commission
7:00 pm, Present: Paul Mitnik, Mary Ellen Johnston, David Jenney, Holly Weidner,
Ginny Brackett, and Amanda Brackett.

1.Boat launch site on Seven Mile Stream- Finally approved by the DEP for a tier I permit. Discussion about next steps: Call or write to Mr. Isaacson to let him know and get commitment. Paul will do this. Dave will continue to work with Josh Platt on the easement.

2. The Low Impact Development workshop and the Woodlands workshop would be good for our commission members to attend. No one was available, unless Paul could do it as work.

3. Meeting with the owners of Rancourt Farm is scheduled for Thursday night at 5.

4.We got approval from Mary Sabins to join the Maine Association of Conservation Commissions . This will be a good resource for us as we grow and learn about conservation activities of other Maine communities.

5. Ginny Brackett suggested that we collect data and information from our maps about the lands in town that we would want to try to designate as protected. Then we can offer this information to the Planning Board and talk to them about some new Open Space language in the Sub-division ordinance.

6. The next meeting will be on Nov. 17th
