Cemetery Minutes, May 9, 2022
Present: Savannah Labbe, David Jenney, Tom Richards, Mary Sabins and Sue Haines
Signs: We have $10,000 remaining. We figued that 30 signs would run around $4,000, plus perhaps the same for posts. We will start in the North Cemetery and then move onto Cross Hill, Methodist, Union and Nichols. We also discussed row signs, perhaps putting them every 5 rows. (Mary has now communicated with Jordan Weaver about these). We will wait to order after town meeting to see what our budget for the coming year looks like.
Veteran's grave flags: Tom and Don Breton do this working from maps kept up by the fire department and the American Legion. They try to keep track of new burials.
David reported that Jody may do a bit less work this year for personal reasons.
Tom saw the area that Gene wants to cut back in the North which seems fine to him. He has also talked with Gene about this.
Memorial Day wreaths: Tom will order wreaths for memorials.
Lalime “cemetery” - behind the house on Bog Rd, near the corner with Webber Pond Rd. Ronnie Lalime is a veteran and gets a flag. There are others buried there. The current owners of the house, allow people to cross their land to the area.
Next Meeting: June 13th (the first Monday is town meeting day).
