VCC meeting. June 14, 2010- Minutes

7:00 pm, Present: Paul Mitnik, David Jenney, Mary Ellen Johnston, Holly Weidner.

Laurah Brown's land on the Dam Rd. will not be acquired by the town after town meeting voted to reject taking it as a small park for the community.

Paul Mitnik has sent a letter to Mark Isaccson with a copy of the deed, now that the town approved the development of a small, carry-in boat launch on his Seven Mile Stream property. The two conditions specified were no motorized vehicles on the path, and the public will have access to this launch site. Paul will begin to work on the grant with the NRCS and our contacts at DOC.

Discussion of the Project Canopy Tree Grant- We will re-apply this year, when the application process begins in July. This year we need to have more match in the first year. Mary Ellen and Steve will work on this.

Suggestions re: new members. Who do we know and will they consider joining the commission to fill the two open slots?

Discussion of a canoe trip on the Kennebec, later in the summer. During Vassalboro Days?

The next VCC meeting will be on July 20, at 7PM. All are welcome.
